About Mauna Kea

The Mauna Kea Resort is located approximately 27 miles north of the Kona International Airport past the Mauna Lani Resort on the sunny Kohala Coast. The resort has two separate entries. The south gate is the entrance to the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel and the north gate to the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. The resort boasts two of Hawaii’s best beaches and two championship golf courses. The Hapuna Golf Course is a links-style course by Arnold Palmer/Ed Seay and is popular for its breath-taking ocean views from every hole. The Mauna Kea Golf Course with its renown over-the-water-holes, was refurbished by Rees Jones without changing the essential character of his famous father’s design, Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Mauna Kea is on a slope, allowing most properties to have great ocean and coastline views.
